HYPERTENSION
We should value our health especially in our generation. Being healthy is really necessary because it can prolong our lifespan but some people don't value their health and do those things that can harm their health and that can cause some diseases that might lead people to despair.
The circulatory system, also called the cardiovascular system or the vascular system, is an organ system that permits blood to circulate and transport nutrients. There are a lot of circulatory diseases such as Heart Attack, Hypertension, etc.
Discussion:
Hypertension is a long term medical condition in which the blood pressure in the arteries is persistency elevated. Hypertension is another name for high blood pressure. It can lead to severe health complications and increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, and sometimes death. Blood pressure is the force that a person's blood exerts against the walls of their blood vessels.
The cause of hypertension is often not known. In many cases, it is the result of an underlying condition.
Doctors call high blood pressure that is not due to another condition or disease primary or essential hypertension.
If an underlying condition is the cause of increasing blood pressure, doctors call this secondary hypertension.
Primary hypertension can result from multiple factors, including:
- *blood plasma volume
- *hormone activity in people who manage blood volume and pressure using medication
- *environmental factors, such as stress and lack of exercise
Link to economics:
In order for us to prevent hypertension, it's our decision to make our circulatory system healthy but not just our circulatory system but also other systems. Buying those things and doing those things that can harm our circulatory is part of decision making and in economics decision making is part of it.
For example buying cigarettes, you will budget your money on how much you need for you to buy a cigarette in that day. In economics you should be a wise buyer and being a wise buyer should know how to budget their money for their needs and wants.
This is usually your total budget at the end of the month but what if you get diseases that would affect your monthly budgeting? Well. This happens :

In the U.S., about 75.2 million adults (one in every three) had hypertension during 2013–2014.2 In 2014, hypertension was listed as a primary or contributing cause of 427,631 American deaths, and heart disease and stroke were the first-and fifth-leading causes of death respectively.3Economically, hypertension cost the nation about $51.2 billion per year, and total CVD cost the nation about $316.1 billion per year during 2012–2013.4Reducing the health and economic burden of hypertension and CVD is a public health priority.
